Looking at the pictures l think it could be a inport because of the sunroof. Car sent to USA and Canada did not have a sunroof. They all came with aircon as standard. I am wondering it was changed to a left hand from a righ hand and a S3 dashboard was fitted ?.

I remembered a similar XJ-C being sold in Pennsylvannia around 2000. Searched my old computer and BOOM !, found a picture.

the curious thing is that it was being advertised as a 1975, and it had the Side Marker lights, which your car does not have.

here's the car as advertised in 2000 and yes, it had a seized engine at the time

The one in your picture has no sunroof. So I don't think it's the same car, unless the sunroof was add on. The side marks were only on export not for UK models.
If I was the owner, I would want to find out if the car was stolen and the VIN# was used of a wracked car. The VIN# on the car was not issued to the xjc it is from a 80s car, because production stop in 1977 way before the number was issued.

ok, the car in my picture was being sold out of Pennsylvania USA. I have no clue what happened to it. The widow of the owner was asking for offers as I recall. I understand it is not the same car, but the similarity caught my eye..Also the car in my picture has a black interior, not biscuit like yours.

This is NOT correct. Every single Seies III Jaguar for Canada (1980-1992) and the US (1980-1987) was fully optioned, including the sunroof - every one of them had the electric sunroof, without exception - and yes, every one also had the climate control with air conditioning. The Series I and II did not have a sunroof fitted.

I was not talking about the series 3.
it's the series 2 car and it's the XJC, I was talking about.
All iam saying this car was not made to the the vin plates on the car The plate belongs to another car from another year maybe 5 year from the XJC was made.

Well, this is what happens when I read the forums before my second cup of morning coffee! This thread has dealt with both the Series II and a Series III car, thus my error (plus the fuzzy morning brain). apologies.

No problem. I know what it is like in the morning 😂 I just hope the car is not stolen and and the vin # change to get it registered on to another title too sell it on.
