Higher rear end than front end?
I'm looking at purchasing a 1994 XJS 2+2 and it seems that if you are looking at the car from a side view, that there is quite a bit of slope (higher in the rear, lower in the front) to it. Just looking at it I can definitely say there is a solid two inches more between the tire and the fender in the rear than in the front.
That being said, is this something to be concerned about and of course, what would cause this to occur? The car only has 86k on it and generally seems to be in quite good condition (needs tie rod ends though).
Any thoughts are appreciated!

Front end ride height actually looks about right in the on-line pictures. It is the rear end that looks to be riding substantially high. If it is the rear springs being improperly installed (which is what you were saying right?) how easy is it to set right?

No, I wan't trying to imply an installation problem.
Over the years I've heard/read from quite a few XJS/XJ6 owners who have had trouble getting the correct ride height with replacement springs....with "too high" being more common than "too low". Sometimes, not always, "too high" becomes "just right" after a few weeks of settling in.
My personal opinion, not confirmed by actual research, is that vendors are selling replacement springs that are not correct for the vehicle. Yes, they physically fit...but are not the correct length or strength. When I see a single part number with a description of "1980-1987 XJ6 and XJS 1975-1995", or similar, I suspect the spring is a semi-generic replacement and not "tuned", if you will, for each specific application.

This is true, happened to me. The springs were the correct length and properly installed but ride height out of the shop was almost 2 inches high. After a couple of weeks they settled, but still a proud inch high. A big tool box and a sand bag in the trunk got it right, leading me to wonder if maybe we are being sold springs for convertible, maybe thats all thats available these days. Just my 2c
