Default $2938 for a non running project XJ'S?

Must be a lot of deep pockets on BaT.
1987 XJ-SC - 119K miles. Doesn't run. Not great condition.
Sold for $2938.

T-top. That's pretty rare.

People must like the open air driving experience without the flexible, fully exposed convertible look and feel.

Buyer says (in BaT comments) that the car will be exported to Europe. Prices there, at least in the UK, tend to be higher than what we see in North America.

I paid $1250 for mine about 6 months ago. It ran, but the transmission was bad and it came on silly 20x8.5 wheels. Needs a paint job too.

Yes it seems that Europeans, in particular Like American cars and are willing to pay a surprising premium for them over what us cheap Americans are willing to pay.
When I bought mine I had to come up from my normal $300 all the way to $500 to get nice rust free Southern California car with decent miles and condition.
I didn’t care too much about the decent condition. In fact that’s the hard part. It’s too nice to make into a race car. The interior is in nice shape, the paint buffed up nicely, the only negative is the original radio is gone.
