Apart from the body shell, (obviously !), these cars have much in common with the XJ saloons, almost the same mechanically, in fact. This is a good thing, because it means the parts don't cost the earth ! 50,000 miles means it has not really been used much in the 19 years since it was built
Bodyshell rust is normally the main problem and leaking from around the front windshield. Suspension ball joints wear quite quickly and can be replaced by the XJ40 ones, which are very cheap and last forever, (or almost). Do be aware that Jaguar did not really prepare and paint their cars very well, it took Ford to teach them. However at this mileage, that should not be so apparent, at least I would hope not.
I would want to see the car, have a fairly long test drive, and also view the maintenance records, as lack of maintenance can prove problematical to the next owner. Price looks OK if it really is that miles and is in superb condition as it should be for that mileage. An '82 US car may be the pre-HE engine, so very heavy on fuel; its a 5.3 V12 remember !

Most important part is to check if it was overheated at some point. Engine must run perfectly. Even, no missing, no rattles, or leaks.
If these motor overheat, even for a brief period of time, they get damaged and will require costly repair, in many cases motor replacement is cheaper.
So do not buy any of "it needs a tuneup, that is why it missed and smokes" BS.
