1/2 way there

Be very careful using chinese fans from Jegs and such, 2100cfm is not enough anyways. I used BMW 5 series cooling fan, from 6 cylinder version. It is 2 speed, so it runs half speed all the time, however when temperature switch activates, main fan goes full speed and aux-fan kicks in. These engines require tons of cooling. Also please make sure that your radiator is 100% unrestricted, because if you have crud in it from being 28y/o, it might not work effectively altogether. I got mine re-cored few years back, but ideally I want aluminum one, this is on my to-do list, after I harvest my money tree.
How is 83 convertible top holding up, I always wondered about convenience of these old tops? Mine is 82 coupe, like 90% of them were.

The 2100 cfm is just one fan, combined with the replacement aux-fan it will be double that. There are a number of different brands I'm looking at, so I haven't made any hard decisions yet. The radiator in mine is like new, the car had 28K miles on it and was a garage queen. The waterpump seized and that's what caused the engine failure. I've flushed the radiator anyway just to be sure to get any sediment out.
The top on mine is pretty dry-rotted. It's intact, but it has to be replaced. Unfortunately, it isn't a typical conversion so I can't just buy a replacement off Ebay or something. I suspect it will have to be hand made. If you look at the pics I previously posted, you'll see what I mean. In the conversion they deleted the small side windows in the back.
