Default 1976 xjs a/c ranco ?

Hello all. I need to run a new wire to my compressor clutch, "wires were removed by previous owner " If i remember correctly the ranco is what activates the compressor, I could be wrong however, Anyone familiar with this. Thanks in advance.

The Ranco thermostat is in the circuit, yes, but, more specifically, its job is to deactivate the compressor if the evaporator gets close to freezing.

The compressor circuit is powered-up via the servo. I'm not familiar with the older circuit design but there might be a relay involved ...in which case the servo triggers the relay.

In any case, a faulty (or disconnected) Ranco can prevent the compressor from engaging

Cheers
DD

The other side of the Ranco is what controls the compressor clutch on the 76 model , It is the green wire
