Welcome to the Forums.
When the dust settles, please do an Intro in the New Members Area.
The only option I remember?? on the PreHE, for down here, was cruise control, or NO cruise control.
Colour as mentioned of course.
Simple cars, good luck.

My understanding is that the only real options were color. It took Jaguar a very long time (into the 2000s if we're honest) to figure out how options lists work. There are changes in features for some year changes, but I'm pretty sure that all '77s have the same equipment.
Throughout the 1980s, there were more XJS options, but even then, this mainly consisted of Jaguar removing from the standard spec things that were previously included!

There were a number of extra cost options available for the early XJS but the VIN / Chassis Number doesn't indicate anything about trim level and options. To establish how the car left the factory, you would need to apply for a Jaguar Heritage Build certificate.
Your VIN indicates:
UH - Built in 1977
2W53643 - American Market build - (1 extra digit than RoW cars)
53643 - Built in 1977 (First 77 US car = 53329, Last car = 55278) so probably built around end Feb '77?
The interesting bit is that Auto cars should have had BW or WB at the end of the Chassis number. The absence of it indicates that it was one of the rare manual cars. BUT, I have seen a number of these early cars without the BW and they were still Auto. So, I'm guessing yours is an Auto as the US didn't really want manual XJSs?
Hope that helps
Paul
