1980 XJS and 1976 XJ6 suspension are the same?

There is a 4.2 1976 XJ6 for sale that I am thinking about purchasing. for spares for my XJS.
When i say "spares", it looks too good to scrape or part out, and with the asking price being what it is - it could be another project for me.
So my question is
Is the rear suspension cage and the front suspension system (including steering rack) the same as my 1980 XJS. That is - can I pull the rear cage out of the XJ6 - recondition everything and then place it in my XJS. Just to keep off road timing to a minimal. I then recondition the XJS cage and put it back into the XJ6
My XJS speedo is cable driven - is the 1976 XJ6 speedo also cable driven
Hope my question makes sense
Cheers

Yes, they should be the same. Only difference might be the presence or absence of a rear anti roll bar, as Jaguar added and deleted them over the years. The differential ratios may be different too, depending on the market. I don't know what was standard in Australia. My guess is a 1976 will be a 3.31 ratio.

Thank you Jagboi an Greg -
Finding it very hard to say no at this point.
The different ratio of the diff is even more appealing
Can't get away from work until Saturday week, so doing my research. I keep going back to the advert and I like it more each time. Same thing happened when I first saw my XJS
Cheers

Agree, same same.
The wheel bearings front from 1976 to and including X300 are the same Part Numbers.
XJ6 4.2 Aussie is probably 3.07. The XJS would I thing?? be 3.31, diff ratios.
S2 cars was the start of metric pipes etc for brakes, so just be aware there may be oddities here and there. Nothing a few beers wont sort.
