Default 1988 electrical question

Is there any constant parasitic draw from the ECU or anything else on these cars that would suggest adding a simple battery disconnect switch?

My '16 Z06 is always sucking power when off, doing "something", so it needs to be on a battery tender or have the battery disconnected if it isn't going to be regularly driven.

Thanks,
Doug

Factory alarm system, if you have it, is a parasitic draw that requires either a battery tender or a cut off switch. The one issue with a cut-off is if you have factory stereo that requires a code when reconnected to power.

The only draws in an 88 is the keep alive of the radio and a very small draw from the trip computer. That's assuming everything in the car is original and in good shape with no add-on accessories. I have had a capacitor in the door lock solenoid go bad and start a parasitic draw.
I recommend a cheap battery tender. I've used one of these on several cars. Start with a charged battery, and it'll maintain it without overcharging.
