I mentioned in another thread that the gap filling weather strip between the reveal molding at the top of the fender and the windows were missing from the molding.
How in the heck are those reveal moldings attached?
I looked in there and I don't see any obvious staples or screws holding the molding to the fender tops.
For that matter, when i had the rear compartment divider removed to deal with the gas tank connector, I did some casual looking and didn't see any obvious good access to the rear window lift mechanism to do any adjusting or shimming. One rear 1/4 window is setting about 3/8" to 1/2" too far in towards the center of the car, such that there is significant gap between the 1/4 window and drivers window, and the 1/4 window is on the inside of the conv top weather strip rather than in the groove it is supposed to be in.
On my H&E the chrome molding is riveted to the body of the car. Lower the top and you should see one of the rivets to the rear of the chrome molding. Lower the 1/4 window and you should see the second rivet. On the inside of the 1/4 window you should see a felt strip attached with 3 tiny screws to the separating panel (?) the one that you removed to access the lower fuel tank. See attached.
You probably don’t see anything because the lower half of the seal is still stuck in the chrome strip, while the usually visible rubber gasket has crumbled off.
the seal you want is this… just cut it to length. Note how wide it is, the part that fits into the chrome strip is in the middle of its width,
