1988 XJS Automatic Seat Belt BS - How Do I shut this off???
My 1988 XJS has robot seat belts that automatically buckle me up when I stick the key in the ignition. It was a really cute gimmick at first, but now they go on my nerves. On the driver side, the mechanism gets stuck or spills its plastic cable at least once a week. On the passenger side it buckles up my backpack or groceries and tips them over when unbuckling.
What is the simplest way to shut this roller coaster nonsense off, preferably in the closed position? Is there a separate fuse I can pull or do I have to find the motor and unplug it?
Does anyone sell a conversion kit to regular seat belts? My 1988 XJ-SC did have regular seat belts.
Please help before this BS strangles me.

The previous owner of my 88' ripped the system out of the driver side and the passenger side doesn't work. I went to the junkyard and ripped the 3 point system out of an 83'. Has anyone retrofitted one before? I assume they left the bolt up points? I haven't been able to install it yet... and I forgot to get the piece you insert the buckle into 🤦🏻*♂️. So that'll be fun to find somewhere because the auto system has a different lap belt buckle. I can tell you, I feel so naked with only a lap belt. Scary

My passenger seat sensor is screwed up and will go back and forth constantly with the battery on. There is a module somewhere under the glove box that I unplugged to turn it off.
The drivers side works fine and I am totally use to it. Would prefer to put regular belts in, but that required the upper Trim AND the rear interior panel, thats a lot of stuff to source, so I'll probably do it whenever I restore the car and its interior.
