1990 convertible fun braking time

Had a lovely experience yesterday with my 1990 convertible...went for a nice drive around the Island and made a panic stop for a last-second decision to pop into a store. The car did a very unsettling combination of rapid loud clicking (ABS, I presume), and hopping up and down on one front tyre whilst I tried to control the direction. I'm guessing this is the electrical connections to the valve body? I'll have to do the 32-point continuity test...anyway, under normal braking, the car is brilliant, especially after the suspension rebuild. I could do without the "hoppy, let's leap off the road altogether" behaviour, however.

dinodino,
If it only did that when you did a panic stop ie when the ABS was actually supposed to kick in, then it may not be a faulty valve block at all. It could be an inconsistent sensor or a blocked reluctor ring etc.
First do the blink test to see if any fault codes have been stored. Then if not obvious where to go next, do the 32 continuity tests.
Good luck
