1994 4.0 transmission limp home
I've been trying to solve a problem causing my XJS to be in limp home mode and have run out of ideas. I've replaced the TCM twice. I've replaced the throttle position sensor. I've turned the car over to a British car repair shop. They've checked the transmission solenoids and the speed sensor. The nearest Jaguar PDU to check the codes using the OBD1 plug in the boot is over 3 hours away. I've tried to reset the system by disconnecting the battery. That doesn't work which tells me I have a "hard" code and not an intermittent one.
The replacement TCM's were used. Is there anyone that provides a testing/repair service for the TCM?
Does anyone have a TCM that is known to be trouble free that is for sale or could be borrowed to see if the TCM is the problem?
Would anyone be willing to plug my TCM in your car to see if it works with your transmission?
Anyone have a PDU that I could borrow to check codes in my car?
Any ideas what else I can do short of taking the car to the shop three hours away?
