The battery on my 94 XJS was completely dead (0 volts) when I tried to start the car this week. I replaced the battery (car runs fine), but now when I press the lock and/or unlock button on the FOB, I only hear the chirp at the front on the car (with the locks doing nothing). The security light near the shifter lights up a solid red when pressing the buttons. The locks work fine manually with the key or using the driver's door lever. Oddly, if I manually lock the doors, the remote will unlock the doors, but the FOB will not lock/unlock afterwards (only the chirp).

Do I need to reprogram the FOB? I'm confused as I thought the system should have remembered the programming when the battery was dead.
