Default 1995 6-cylinder Coupe Rear Shocks

My next project is going to be replacing the rear shocks on my 1995 6-cylinder coupe. It looks like the part number is MHD3540AA, according to http://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/uk...nd-damper-rear
I haven't been able to find these for a reasonable price. Any suggestions for a substitute? I've been able to find CAC9091 in various places for substantially less money.

Thanks!

Eastrando,

Just my view on an option:

I fitted Gaz adjustable height platform shocks with adjustable damping. I also fitted Eibach springs, which were developed specifically to replace the XJS late facelift sports springs.

With the adjustable height platform, you can set your ride height as per factory spec (or your own preference) and with the adjustable damping, you can set for your own ride preferences.

It is quite common for the XJS to suffer sagging rear springs so you may want to change these at the same time.

As for dampers it depends on your budget. Boge is what most XJS' used from the factory. I used Bilstein and Gaz are good and adjustable. I have been told that Monroe have poor longevity and Gabriel I know nothing about.

I installed sensen struts on mine 4 years ago. they are stiffer than stock and only $120 for all 4. some people complain about the welds and I can see why, however I have had no issues and I am happy with the stiffer ride. you cant beat the price. also they have a lifetime warranty. they sell under different brand names. I believe apx is the same company. whatever ebay has for $120 for all 4 is them.
