1995 XJS 2+2 4.0 Dead battery and shock replacement

Double trouble, once again my 95 XJS has gone dead. I drove the car on Thursday got fuel, did some driving. Parked the car and came down Friday am and no lights, no crank completely dead. Checked battery with a volt meter 2.58 volts. Wouldn’t start with even a jump. Not the first time but it has been months since it occurred.
#2 Noticed the car had a slight lean to the right on front, feels like shock is weak. Looking for a suggestion for a replacement set.
Thanks I’m advance

I just replaced my battery two weeks ago, we have a local chain store called O'rielly and it was $168 USD. If you're going to try and jump the XJS 4.0 battery you're going to need a good amperage battery to do it with, and a while to sit there and let it charge up a bit. I've been nursing my battery on a charger for two years now, but it finally had it. On your other note, the shock doesn't support the suspension, the coils springs do. Something to think about.

That's either a failed battery or a massive drain happening.
Disconnect the battery, charge it up. Check voltage is over 12.5v, then leave it 24 hours. If still 12.5v, connect it up. Leave 24 hrs, then measure again.
Although gas-assisted shocks can provide a small degree of height control, a diwnward lean sounds more like a spring.

Well hopefully I have solved the dead battery issue. Followed suggestions took battery our put full charge left for two days no drop in voltage. Put a fully charged battery in and left it once again a slight 1 v drop. Diagnosis; bad alternator open diode. No power being put back into the battery after driving for several days. Guess I’m fortunate it didn’t drop dead on the road.
thanks for all the suggestions.

Glad you've got to the bottom of the problem. Although I'm amazed it could do even one journey with a non-charging system and then even turn the engine over the next time? Very strange. Still, good luck with getting the problem sorted. If it's just a diode pack, it's easy to get that replaced - no need to get a new alternator.
