Default 1995 XJS V12 EVAP Removal - help! :)

Hey guys, it seems that my AC is leaking somewhere around EVAP (Inside the car); I've tested all the spots (And changed many things to new ones) inside engine bay but all AC liquid disappears within 2-3 days period. My garage is not willing (Maybe not capable) of doing this job so here we go..
- Maybe someone has previous experience on taking out EVAP on these Facelifted models? I've heard that it's possible to take it out VIA speedometer gap? Or do i need to dismantle all panel?

Any, literaly any suggestions, pictures, photos, manuals (For Facelifted models) would be appreciated

If it like my 94, it uses a GM style valve to fill the system, these are notorious for going bad. If you have or can borrow a sniffer (or even pay a garage) test for a leak. If the evaporator is bad, you can detect the refrigerant by the defroster vents.

I have replaced my car's evaporator, it is not a job I want to do again.

I've done this job, The dash has to come out. It's not as bad as it seems. The Dash comes out in 1 piece, the cluster is 1 piece on facelift models and all connections are easy to manage. The difficult part is the air bags. Both Airbags are mechanical (basically grenades) and have to be disarmed. There is a very specific procedure for this that MUST be followed. You need to get the service manual and follow it. It's 2-3 hours to get it out as a novice after the airbags. It would take me 90 min tops because I have the driver side Air bag tool. That's the biggest problem you will need to solve. Find the guy in your part of the world that dismantles these cars for parts, he'd know how to do it.

I made the tool from a piece of stainless steel tubing. Gave it a tap with a hammer to make the D shape and it works perfectly

Ok, clear. Do i need to take out passenger Airbag as well in order to take out all AC unit?
Regarding Steering wheel airbag - procedure is clear, only thing missing is D shaped tool.
Regarding passenger side - it seems to be more complicated.

Drivers Airbag tool: Select correct size socket (6mm from memory, maybe?) than just araldite or similar a small d-shaped wedge into it to create the correct- shape socket, and you're good to go. Definitely worth accurately counting and remembering the number of turns you make to disarm and then use the exact same number to reprime. Can't remember if the WSM says this, but slackening (but not removing) the top 2 bolts, then turning the wheel through 180 degrees to get to the lower bolt helps the process.

Good luck

I believe the passenger side airbag can stay in place.

However, I would replace the fill ports before going any further. Those were leaking on my car as well, they are very common leak points and much cheaper and easier to change than changing an evaporator. High side part number is AC Delco 155438.
