Do any of you know if the radiator is made of brass and can be effectively cleaned out and repaired if leaking? Also does the bonnet need to be removed to so this? I see that SNG Barrett has the hose for $68 each.
Thanks, RagJag

Ragjag,
It's definitely possible to get the rad out with bonnet in situ. I've done it a few times.
As regards fixing it; IMO, the biggest problem with late facelift rads is that they lose all the cooling fins in the lower third of the rad. I think you'll be horrified when you get it out. So, I think you should look for a good place to recore it. You'll notice a big difference in cooling capacity when sitting still in traffic.
Also, be careful of disconnecting that bottom hose. It's not cheap, Jaguar have a few left of the water heater type, but I don't know of ANYONE who has reproduced the AJ16 compound bottom hose in the UK. It may be different over there, but check before you cut it off!
Also, look to replace jthe radiator foams with some good closed-cell foam that will do the job and not suck up water.
Good luck
Paul
