Error in title: Any facelift year using identical lamps is acceptable, but I'm after images of the factory parts.
Does anyone have an image of these or know the original manufacturer model? I know some previous years used Cibie 35s, but I think the later editions used different lamps.

What'da know..... one of the things I've never looked at, never even pulled the covers off was my foglamps. Just discovered that both lenses are cracked......What a "Hella" thing to find (HA HA HA HA HA....hee hee....eh, erm..., but see they're "Hella" brand lights on my '92....and well...Right, Sorry, Crappy joke. Dunno if their the same for a '96. Dunno if this is the model number, but the bottom of the lens has "343R19" on 'em. Hope it helps.

That's quite helpful. If it's not too much trouble, would you mind taking some basic measurements of width and height, and let me know if the rear housing is chrome?
I'm thinking they might be Hella 181s, but either way I'd like to find something the same size.
Any information you can provide may prove helpful in the future for anyone with a mind to add a fog lamp kit to their later model XJS.

The Hella lamps have been discontinued, but it's still very valuable information.
They are a darn sight cheaper than the Jaguar units, and while they will likely be used or NOS, they are slightly more readily available. There is another benefit to this information, though.
I'll be able to peruse the various aftermarket lighting options, and attempt to find a close match to the Hellas, to use when and if they become more difficult to find.
As most of these aftermarket lamps are supplied with covers, it will be an easy task to replicate the Genuine Jaguar covers with some sanding (if the brand logo is raised), some flexible filler or fiberglass (if the brand logo is depressed), a bit of texture, careful plastic-specific paint, protective coating, and a small jaguar badge available nearly anywhere. They could also be replicated from fiberglass if a factory unit is available to use as a pattern.
Does it all matter? Not really. Still, the factory units look nice on the vehicle, but they are hard to find and cost far more than they are worth.
Some people may find this information helpful eventually.
Thanks for helping out.

Well, I bought a set of chrome Cibie 35's (Airports) on Ebay.
The Hella 172 would have been close to factory fitment, but somehow they were a bit too slab-sided at either end. Those are essentially 550's in a chrome housing. I thought something with a bit more curve would be better, and I wanted to avoid the "rally" look.
The 35's ought to look nice. It's not like the car needs fog lamps. I'm just tired of seeing those bare connectors and mounts. It's always looked as if something is missing. That is, of course, because something was missing.
