1996 XJS rear window catching when dropping top
When I put the top down, the bottom of the rear window is catching on the top of the rear seat (where the seat belt retractors are). It seems the window isn't folding down from the bottom. If I put a little pressure on the bottom of the window it goes right down.
This started occurring about a year ago. Just had the whole top replaced but it's still happening. Is there some sort of spring that pulls the window down?

There was a recent post on this same issue.
I forget what the solution was, but can you check to make sure that rear seatback is as low as it will go? Its easy to remove the seat bottoms (they are held in place by two screws) which exposes the two screws that holds the seat back in place.
I think I recall someone explaining how to adjust the roof tension to miss the seat as well.

David,
I've started to get the same problem in the last few weeks. But I'm due to change the hood and fit new tension cables, so I'm just living with it for now and being careful to push the window lower edge away when folding the hood.
I suspect it's the cables that are the issue, but you may be able to slightly resolve the problem, using adjustment of the brackets. See this post here for a suggestion:
