1996 XJS for sale---$35,000!

I love the XJS but at the same time I am well aware of it's faults. The reality is I drive and own the XJS more for it's style and presence as much as anything.
What older car does not have its faults and limitations? I think part of a cars personality is the quirks that are part of the car. What drew me to the XJS say over a Corvette or a Mercedes SL for example is everything that makes it stand out like the flying buttresses, top stack etc.
The XJS stands out in a crowd just like so many Jaguars do that came before it.

never thought I woould fall for a XJS
I have always loved te E Type, but are out of my price range. saw mine for sale some years ago but didn't buy it then. came back up for sale and bought it and love the drive of it, when it is running. But first year was going thru electrics in the boot and redoing the interior checking the wiring there also. Currently have it put up and am going thru the electrics under the hood, stripping off the top of the engine to remove electrics out of the "V" and do much needed cleaning. also going to put on new belts and hoses and clean paint and/or replace some other parts. Hope to have this done by mid-summer, if not, Oh Well.
Hope the link works, its for my FB page

I agree with you... LOL. But they were not the only manufacturer that messed up with cheap parts. I have an itch to buy a new car but my current 2006 Lexus LS 430 runs and drives so well, its hard to buy a new one. LOL. Lexus made this car just about perfect and it may last forever. I wish Jag did the same with the XJS. Oh well.

I would agree that many Japanese cars are very dependable, but you hardly see any older Japanese cars being restored at least here in America with the exception of the early 240Z.
The thing that draws me to the Jaguar lineup as a whole are the Jags time less beauty . So many are simply stunning to see and the fact that you do not see many of the older ones being driven often really makes seeing them in person that much more special.

I briefly had a career as a real estate agent and learned 2 of the most used
quotes an agent would hear,
1) The 3 most important things about property: "Location, Location, and Location".
2) A property's worth is what some one will pay for it. Eventually, Some day. . .
Quote #2 seems to apply to car values.

I wonder if they sold it this time.
Does eBay disclose both, "closed" and "sold"?

One of our independent dealers here in the UK currently has a LHD 6.0 convertible that has been brought back from the US. 6,900 miles on the clock and he's asking £65,000 ($99,000).
He also has a few other 6.0 convertibles with c30,000 - 50,000 miles. Asking price about £35,000 ($56,000).
His 4 litre convertibles with c45,000 miles are about £25,000 ($38,000).
So, for you US owners, bring the cars back home here and make some money!
