Default 3.6 vs V12 shocks

My 85 XJ-SC has a nice rattle when I drive it. It's a 3.6 with a 5 speed. Are the shocks the same as the V12?

Many thanks

Your 6 cylinder car might have been built with slightly different shocks than a V12 car. That is, calibrated a bit differently. Surely a subtle change, if it was done at all.

Any shocks you can presently buy for a V12 should be fine for your car. There's certainly no issue with actual fitment.

Cheers

KYB Grey shocks! Cost effective and more responsive then OEM.

Thanks all, I suspected that the way that the car would sit would be in the springs but I wanted to be sure.

Ride height is dictated mostly by springs BUT gas shocks will have a limited affect especially if your old shocks have lost pressure.
