I presume that yours mount the same way, since 84 was identical to 82 in every way. But I would like to see pictures of your mounting brackets from the back, to make sure. Connectors should also be the same.

Also interested in possibly swapping out double for euro.
Have 88 XJS and purchased a set of euro headlights with glass lenses, brackets, clips and chrome trim. Haven't received them yet but I have taken off the chrome trim on my double headlights and see the mounting bolts.
For the life of me, I can't see where those euro clips come into play.
Car's going in for a full re- paint from signal red to black and I want to update the look. Also removing the front turn indicators and replacing with Lucas small lenses. Debating on the black on black Arden look. Which means black headlight trim.

The small hole each side the the larger hole on each side and below, is where the clips bolt up to captive nuts. The entire mounting frame for the quads has to be unbolted and removed.

Thanks Greg. As I see it, one clip right and left but I see holes on top and bottom.
I just checked my euro headlamp photos since I Jane not received yet and just noticed 5 not 6 clips. I assume I will absolutely have to have three per side to attach and aim properly. I've checked every and can find no used clips. Any good resources for this part?
Thanks for any help!

Another upgrade I'm interested I'm interested in Doing with headlights is possible frontand rear bumper. Can anyone tell me if the late model front and rear skirt bumpers will swap out for older rubber strip bumper? And would I need different chrome bumper rails?

Yes, one each side and one at the bottom. The clips are on ebay and any of the UK breakers have them, eg Grublogger. I know many of your countrymen throw a fit at the thought of buying anything from over here, but they will cost almost nothing to post airmail.

Going to the double light per side--is that a good answer???
Is it expensive- Can it be done???
Any other ideas???
Thanks for any help.
Not sure if you made the switch but I've finally switched my quad units for euro glass.
I found that the set of lamps I purchased had a lot of silver missing leaving bare copper, therefor the light output is very dim and yellow.
I used a small piece of sponge taped to a rod and used chrome bumper paint. I sprayed the sponge and carefully went through the bulb opening and gently tapped the sponge, covering the exposed copper with silver.
I also taped a cotton cloth and sprayed with glass cleaner to carefully clean the interior glass.
Finally I replaced the stock halogen bulb with the super white Sylvania bulbs and WOW!! It's like night and day!!!!
I also replaced the small parking bulbs with error free led bulbs. Gives a very updated look.
