Sorry guys , I was pressed for time recently , took a few days to get back
When I changed the distributor on the car the timing stopped jumping around . I haven't pulled the old one apart yet tho. The distributors power wire was broken and held together with the plastic coating which is what was causing the car to die when I turned the distributor.
The water temp sensor plug was only sitting in place and not actually plugged in. It made contact which allowed it to start but vibrated loose, then didn't restart .
Finaly a few days ago When I unplugged the distributor power wires the female connector came out attached to the male end. When I plugged it back in I think it made contact sometimes. It took a few days to find that one and who knows how long it's been like that.
So basically my car had a pooched distributor.,the replacement that came with the car wasn't any better but between the two I have one working dizzy.
Thanks again thugs
