Finally had some time to start dealing with "issues".

#1 issue was stop the gasoline leak from the creatively rigged, excuse me, "engineered" (LOL) fuel system mods in the trunk.

This had been leaking a LONG time, I had parked the car on a slight incline, and the few ounces of fuel that spilled during the hose changeover washed gas residue that looked like dirty thick (like dirty 140 wt gear lube) out of the pan under the trunk onto the concrete.

The hose that was leaking was SAE J30 R6, which is hydraulic/ diesel hose, not gasoline hose. I replaced it with some R14 in, as that was what was available to me, I prefer R9 fuel injection hose but didn't have any in 10MM/3/8".

Re plumbing to stock will happen later, first thing was stop the leak, second project is get the brake lights working. Then get tires.

It was the piece of hose between the fuel filter and the pump, you can see black residue on the top of the pump from the leak.

FWIW, for in-the-trunk fuel plumbing I've had best luck with J1427 marine fuel hose

I found J1527 fuel hose, is that it?

Looks promising, and less expensive than R9 hose.

Thanks!

Forget about tires until you address the cooling system. I seriously doubt he was butchering the hood because he was looking to be cool, he didn't know how to actually make the V12 cool.

See Grant's sticky on the cooling system at the top of the forum. Not rocket science, but not to be neglected either.

Cheers

The stock system is pretty decent. It’s a double pass system. Most aftermarket aluminum radiators won’t cool as well
Make sure the system is clean. Flowing freely. Since the factory recommends you put stop leak in the system, there is more than a good chance it’s plugged up.
Often the problem is the distributor. Yes I know, but if the timing is off that’s what causes overheating.
In the owners manual it tells you to oil the advance mechanism periodically. Nobody ever does. Eventually it freezes up. Test by twisting the rotor and letting it go. If it fails to snap back or doesn’t move at all, that’s the problem.
You have to get it working smoothly. A few times just oiling it ( drops on the center cotton padding under the rotor. ) gets it working.
The rest of the time I’ve had to pull the distributor and take it apart. It’s really just a distributor with 12 plug leads instead of 6 or 8.
