When the top is up in my convertible is there a way to lower the rear quarter windows. Just curious.

 

Yes,

Turn the hood pump control valve to Manual, then press the Hood switch to Down. If you want to raise the windows, press Hood switch to Up but remember you need to wait 8 seconds before they will start. Also remember to put the valve back to Auto later. .

Not sure on the '89, but according to the manual on my '91, if the hood (top) is up and locked, and you cycle the top down button, the quarter windows will lower...

I've successfully done that on my '91, so I know it works, but I don't do it often. Normally I just put the top down.

 

Sorry Don, of course Edelweiss is correct! To get the windows down with the top up, you just press the window switch! It's only to get the windows UP when the top is DOWN that you have to set the valve to Manual.
