89 XJS Convertible--aftermarket Fog Light substitution--Help?
Hi all;
Our family friend sold us their 89 XJS convert in which he had installed retro fog lights back when the car was new. These were Ross lights, which looked like old Lucas running lights. He liked the old time look I guess. The hood could not be opened completely as the front lip would literally squish into the rear of the chrome lights, deforming them. Anyhow, I'm left with two huge holes in the bumper, with THE ACTUAL HOLE ABOUT 5/8", and the max diameter of the affected bumper surface being 1.5". See photos.
Can anyone recommend some interesting options to "fill" the gaps? I was thinking maybe Jaguar hood badges or motorcycle bullet turn signal-type lights. The max height might have to be about 3" tall as the hood really extends far out. I had to get new struts to get it to stay open on the trunk and hood, but thats probably about average for a car this age.
Thanks all,
Gary
