Thanks Cal, its been a while but I am reasonably happy with how it's coming along.

Next is to build my 4 speed tranny then the exciting stuff, build the new engine.

I was talking to a guy last week who built a Jag V12 for a hydroplane (some years ago) making over 800hp, now there is something to shoot for. My brothers 67 Shelby makes 750hp and it is a hoot to drive even if a but scary.

You're gonna need a major turbo or procharger for that kind of power

warrjon, i came across this great thing for 700R4 trans. shifting! also for 4L60E

a paddle shift kit for the steering wheel, works with very light pressure, right side shifts gears up, and left side shifts gears down.

all electronic, mounts with a shaft adaptor, rotates with the wheel.

it seems to be very new idea, Cyclone transmissions USA, was demonstrating it at a show. ther site didnt show much, probably have to call and speak directly.

would make a nice addition to a custom car.

The engine was built in the early 90's I think and is still running. It was in a boat so has had a hard life. Norm who built it really knows his stuff when it comes to Jag V12's. He is the guy I bought my 6.0L from and has been a wealth of information.

I don't want an all out HP engine I want a car that is quick to 100km/h so will be building with midrange torque in mind.

His mustang is a genuine 1967 Shelby GT500 one of the 20 odd small block equipped cars. Engine is 7L with MSD TB injection and has 620hp ATW and was built in the USA by Shelby. Car was restored here in Australia, with a full RHD conversion including hand made mirrored firewall, he spent $$$$$$$

This will be controlled via TCI ezy TCU. TCI says 12 cyl. is not supported but with the marrelli ignition as far as the controller is concerned it is in fact a six cylinder.
Baxtor I am about to buy a 4L80 from Jagdaim they have one for $950. What did you do with the connector? Did you replace it with a GM or find the female?

Who made the bellhouse adapter for you?

Warren, I had no luck with aftermarket connector, ended up buying gearbox loom from grublogger and grafted that to the TCI loom. Computer is now mounted in L/H footwell and loom feeds straight in through modified gearbox access cover. I am using 6 litre so no adapter was required although I did drill and tap the 6 litre to the earlier bolt pattern as well just in case I ever have gearbox issues. This car will not be on the road till later this year.
I know we take our chances with S/H boxes etc. and I did rebuild the one I got off them but it was in excellent condition internally and would have given years more service as it was.

Thanks, I have a 6.0L as well so I don't need an adapter. My Ignition ECU is in the LH footwell so I have not yet decided where I will put the TCU.

I found a company in Canada that sell the internal loom and it looks the same as the GM except for the connector.

I have it the other side of the footwell, opposite the marrelli ecu. Seems handy for inputs and outputs and easy access for the handheld hookup. There is a handy bulge in the panel there, I assume it is meant for the go pedal in RHD models.

That will work. You could use a cable gland on the access plate.

I will call Jagdaim on Monday about the 4L80. I figured that any 4L80 core for under 1000 was a good deal. Buying a $300 core from the USA would be $1000 by the time it was shipped to Aus (without finding someone importing something else).

I think I will either replace the internal loom or crimp a new connector on the Jag harness if I can not find the correct connector.

The connector is an odd bod so to speak Warren. With the hundreds of multi pin round connectors available I found there is nothing available of the correct size and layout.

I thought it was time to post the almost finished pics. As with these things I will never finish her. She still needs a few things. Chrome around the rear screen a final buff and a new set of wheels. TWR 16" are hard to find but I can wait, maybe a set of 16" BBS RS.

She has been registered for a month or so now and has had a few trips away. With only one major overheat because I forgot to re-install the fan fuse. I am really happy with how it came out. Not bad for a garage paint job.

That reflection in the first pic is my 6.0L engine on the stand being dismantled.

I painted the headlight surrounds satin black but I am not sure yet. I might have them re-chromed the jury is out on this one ATM.

Your car looks great Warren. I know it has been a long, but, satisfying journey.

My '84 is getting closer to completion of the mechanical portion, but, as it has been sitting out in the weather for 5 years during this project, I will need to give it one of those garage paint jobs too. I can only hope it turns out half as good as yours.
