I installed a Beck Arnley Thermo switch #201-1545 which has a temp of 82/77. The original I removed was a Elmwood EAC-2510 temp of 85 c... My electric fan will now come on if my temp gauge gets past the middle of the N on the temp gauge. My car usually barely touches the start/lower part of the N on the gauge. I had to idle my car at 2000 rpm's for 5 minutes to get it in the middle of the N to have the fan turn on... I also started with what I think is a clean healthy coolant system...

Correct, on the inlet from the rad bottom below the pulley. AFAIK the fan being jumped should not affect the blowers inside the car, but if they stopped at that moment and will not run again, then maybe... someone who understands the intracacies of the aircon fan system will have to chime in. With any luck at worst it is a fuse blown, so start there!

On my car which has an earlier version of the aircon system, it is in the main fuse box under a cover on the driver's side lower dash. Fuse No: 10, 50 amp, repeat 50 amp. Your car has the Mark III aircon system and the fuses and ratings may be different. The inside of the cover has the fuses and amperages listed, so look there. A good idea to buy a Haynes manual (at least) and maybe also (better) a Repair Operation Manual, such as:

JAGUAR XJS V12 REPAIR MANUAL | eBay

I am a bit lost now, age related probably! Are we now discussing the radiator electric of the cabin heat/aircon blowers?

Congrats on the rear axle rebuild, notice the difference?

Default good info

Just wanted to put this out there. Found the XJS V12 water pump from CARQUEST $43 with a $10 core charge. Beats the $400 everyone else wants.

hi all been busy at work but managed too look at the fan and cooling of the xjs and found out that the radiator was blocked badly and that the bleed pipes also were blocked as they must have been the original parts, when i had the radiator recored the guy at the shop said I'm not surprised your car is overheating. so replaced the radiator and also at the same time replaced the belts and cooling pipes, the main filler pipe was quite rusty so i had that blasted and then i painted it with pro 15 too protect the outside. ialso changed the
main fan with new part and changed the thermostats new thermo sensor too, painted the front top panel with pro 15 too looks much better. going back too the fan it would not come on this was due too a bad earth cable. not earthing properly that caused it not too come on at all when ignition on. will be checking too see if it works when engine hot and keep you posted but temp needle below N when started last

Congrats Luds. very sensible to do what you did. You just cannot avoid dping things properly if you want these cars to preform as intended.
