91 XJS 1 coil failed
Ran fine until this evening, lost major power and backfires. Strong unburned fuel/air mixture on Driver's side exhaust, other side normal.
Removing the top coil wire at distributor made no difference. Held that coil wire up to a ground, and it has a very small, weak spark. Took other coil wire off, VERY STRONG spark, shocked me and of course, engine dies.
I have 13.5 V at one side of the coil, and it reads 1.2 ohms. Is this just a bad coil, where should I get one, and if not, how does one troubleshoot the ignition modules?
I read the Kirby Palm book where it says don't run the car AT ALL until it's fixed, because the unburned fuel will cause a fire, or heat will destroy the catalytic converters in minutes.

If it turns out you need a coil, a couple of week ago I bought this,
I haven't had the chance to put it to much use yet, but it's made in Italy, just like the originals I replaced.
