94 XJS 4.0 Headlight Issue
I finally pieced my car back together after painting it (what task that was/ several years and two attempts at it). I am getting a strange issue which may be related to all the sanding dust, which found its way into the fuse areas.
I turn on my headlights and the right low beam is very dim. The looks a bit brighter. When I put high beams on they work, but the right is still a bit dimmer.
I tried moving the relays around and cleaning the connections at the headlight module.
Another strange thing happens, which may help find the issue. When I open the passenger door with the lights on, the interior lights blink. I can hear the relay clicking under the steering wheel. If I open the drivers door in the same situation it is normal. I do not have a light warning (beeping when the lights are left on). Not sure if I should have this. It seems the car is trying to tell me the lights are on when the passenger door is open with the lights blinking.
As far as I know there is 1 relay under the hood, the module, and the fuses. I checked all the fuses and they are ok. The relays were swapped so it does not seem to be a relay issue. Would a faulty module cause this? Could I pop it open and fix it? Is the module mechanical, like a relay?
Any suggestions?

I did check the ground locations and it seems the module, headlight L and headlight R are all connected to the same ground...
I did pull a ground off to get a better connection recently. Maybe I actually caused the problem by trying to prevent it? I will double check what I did. Basically, I sanded it down to metal and added some dielectric grease. If that point was not connected well, I imagine nothing would work that was connected to it?

Any :"grease" in a low voltage connection (12 is low voltage) is not a good idea. Try loosening that connection and spraying it with an electric spray cleaner, then retighten. If the connectors on those wires were mechanically affixed to the wire. that could be the cause You could also test it by taking a sharp ice pick wrapping the high end of it with a good grounded heavy wire, then poking the individual wires with someone watching to see if that makes a change. Dab it with some liquid tape where wires were punctured afterwards. That will be a tiny hole. You would not need to stuggle to do this close to the connection, which might be difficult.
