Default 94 XJS convertible

can anyone tell me where to find fuse for left hand window on 1994 XJS convertible? went to put top up and close windows ...it wont move- XJS manual says check fuse but neglects to say where to find it

If you mean the front ( door) window, there isn't a fuse, there is a thermal breaker. If you mean the rear quarter window, There is a fuse for the control module for the convertible top but if the top opens and closes then that fuse is good.

At this age, it''s often the relays that fail. Remove the cover for the battery in the trunk, and you should see a row of relays above the battery. The left quarter window relays are the ones on the left and will plug into yellow and white sockets. Try swapping those two relays, and if the window goes up but not down, then you have a bad relay.

Its the Drivers door window left hand side (USA) where do I find relay?

Ah, for the door window there is no relay. Likely the switch then. You can swap it with the passengers side, the easiest way as a test is to remove the liner from the center console by removing the small screws, and then you can get behind the window and top switches. Just swap the plugs between the drivers side and passengers side window switchs and see if that helps. Be aware than the plastic frame that the switches snap into is usually fairly brittle and the clips can break easily.

Thank you for info -----out to garage I went with phillips screwdriver in hand- well I loosened the chrome clip holder I had tightened the other day on armrest when window was down= and nothing, then loosened a little more - and said - c mon baby - Guess what? YEP window works- Up & down- ONLY a JAGUAR! LOL
