Default 95 XJS switch bezel

Greetings all.

I have a cracked switch bezel on my ski slope that operates the windows and convertible top. The crack causes the bezel and buttons to pop out of its secure fitting.

I've seen this part available on ebay: NOS as well as aftermarket, with a huge price difference between the two. Has anyone purchased the aftermarket piece, and have you found it to be of good quality. i.e, does it last?

Also, I haven't taken it apart, but what holds the bezel in place? Are there clips, or does it just fit right in and stay via a tight fit. If it does need clips, where do I get those?

Thanks in advance.

I got a used one from Coventry West at the beginning of the summer for $20, it was part of a larger shopping list I had.

It's held with clips that are moulded as part of the surround. Jaguar has had this part remanufactured and mine is holding up well. Part #7: https://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/u...onsole-leather

Is it a pretty easy fix? Sounds like the bezel will just snap into place. Will the control buttons simply snap out of the old bezel and into the new?

Maybe even I can do it!
