Am I missing something?
That really doesn't matter, and is a leftover from old single cicuit brake systems. The front and rear lines are independent, so front or rear first is immaterial. And on RHD cars, the unit is on the other side, so the instructions were likely written with that in mind.
On the front and rear, for LHD cars, start with the left side.

UPDATE

I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT WHILE WORKING ON THE FRONT CALIPER BRAKE BLEED I ALSO CLEANED THE 28 pin connector located at the ABS ASSEMBLY.

I waited a while and decided to go to O’reilly’s auto partsto see if they could check the codes. On my way there the ABS LIGHT NEVER CAME ON.

I’m thinking the connector cleaning did it’s job. I have gone out for a drive twice and no ABS lights.

WILL KEEP THE GROUP POSTED IF CONDITION RE-OCCURS.

I doubt OReillys can pull the ABS code. They’d need something very expensive to do it. I think they are limited to generic type code readers.

There;s a guy in the marketplace here (no relation) selling a Mongoose for $90. That would read your codes too.

To all those with input.

I think I finally figured it out!!!!!!!!!????????

I test drove it again this morning……and the ABS LIGHT came back on 20mph.

here is what I did

1. Took the 28 pin connector apart again and cleaned again…….test drive…..ABS LIGHT BACK ON

2. Took the two (2) pin connector apart…….The plastic connector disintegrated in my hand……..AND…….The pins were completely covered in corrosion.

3. Cleaned thoroughly put the individual wires back on…..TEST DRIVE…..NO LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

The brakes felt actually better as though it took less pedal to stop?????

NOW I NEED TO FIND A NEW TWO (2) PIN CONNECTOR.

Again will keep you posted of any changes.

Thanks

Good job! Take a picture of the connector. Maybe someone here will know what it is?

If you don't care about restoring to the original connector, then any waterproof connector will work.

You showed on side of the connector. Is there any writing or symbols on the other side or anywhere else?

Keesh,
Thanks

BMPZ756 2-way female connector. It is shot. No grommet that should have been selling the pins. Plastic fell out whenI started to clean.

Thanks

Wiring diagrams only refer to a 2-way Lucar or 2-way Econoseal plug....I don't think it's either.

Could you just cut off both the crumbling female and associated male and just replace it with any waterproof connector?

What I did was remove the connector …..Plastic Housing…..Actually it separated from the female pins……male pins on the main housing. Sprayed Circuit cleaner on the male and female pins and brushed with toothbrush…..got cleaned good.

Vee,

At this point I have two (2)Female pins on wire leads and two (2)Male pins fixed position on the mating housing.

JUST PLUGGED THE FEMALE PINS TO THE MALE PINS (pins were sized differently) so it was easy to figure what goes where.

I then potted plugged pins FITTED WITHIN THE MALE HOUSING in SILICONE RTV.

FIGURED THIS WILL WORK TILL I COME UP WITH A PERMANENT SOLUTION.

probably along the lines of your suggested idea.

Thanks

I have a 94 XJS and my ABS light is on. When I push the brakes the brake light comes on. What are the steps to access the ABS sensors? Any help is much appreciated.

Your Teves III ABS system is entirely different from the Teves IV system being discussed here. You'd be better off starting your own thread.
