Default ABS code clearance

Hi all, got the abs light on which I believe was a faulty front sensor. Replaced the sensor and then took it for a very short run to get it over 19 mph. Can you tell me if that should clear the fault and make the light go out? Not 100% on how to clear it. Thanks once again for any help.

Not sure which car, or which ABS system you're asking for. The Teves IV clears itself after 5 or 15mph. Are you sure you got the right sensor? Are you sure you got the right part, ABS wheel sensors are side specific.

Hi vee, yes correct sensor I think they are handed so must be right. It is an 89 car early teves I believe. So the light should have gone off while driving? That means something is still wrong then.

brinny,

I assume that you ran the blink test procedure to verify that it was the sensor? If you have driven the car above 19mph, it will have erased the ABS ECM memory. Therefore, if you've still got the light, you've got an error code that's been thrown immediately since the erase cycle.

Run the blink test procedure again to see which code has been thrown.

Cheers

Paul

Teves II, find the manual here and get a good voltmeter, you can solve it easily.
