I have a 1986 XJ-S, and since I got it the electric aerial was not connected, and there was a box of aftermarket electric aerials in peices and a static mast was installed that you had to manually pull up and down. A couple of years ago I spent a few days trying to get one that worked. I got to the point where the mast would go up when I turned the radio on, and down when I turned it off, however I ended up with a horrible static noise which made it useless, and then during my bumbling around I managed to blow a fuse in the radio itself. That led to me pulling the radio, and replacing the fuse inside it. I was not a ahppy camper. I bought a quality manual mast and have been using that since. Now that I have nothing else to work on, I would like to take another crack at getting an elecrtic aerial in AND get it working properly. The original was gone before I got the car, so I have no idea what I should be looking to buy. I also took a picture to show the wiring I have at that location in the boot. I have the bracket to mount the aerial, the relay and the 3 wires that match up to the 3 wires in the car, and a white plug/connector that has 3 connections to it. My guess is the white plug would go to the aerial.?
1. Does anyone have a wiring diagram that would be helpful?
2. What would be the best place to source an aerial that would be closest for a direct replacement?
This forum has proved to be a great help to me sorting out my car. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Paul, one came up on ebay that looks good. I did a search for Jaguar parts online, and loads of sites came up. Could you share the link to the site you use?
Have you ordered your antennae yet?
I have a complete antennae assembly from a 1985 XJS Coupe.
My guess is that it should be the same as the 86.
You can have it for the cost of postage plus a few bucks.
Thanks,
