The EAC6806 (older number EAC1360) is the same type of part but was used to mount the Air Flow Meter on Series II-III XJ6s. Perhaps there's a subtle (and insignificant) difference between it and the EAC8130. I dunno.

Does anybody have a pic or could take a pic of the attach or fixing points to the rubber mount of the aft/closest to the TB elbow. I may have mentioned in an earlier post that the rubber mount screws into the engine side wall and comes out horizontally and where it meets the AFM elbow is unclear on mine. Seems to be a 90deg bracket missing or something because the AFM piece has a vertical slot/hole. Something needs to make up the vertical to horizontal difference to mate to the mount.
Thanks for a close up pic or a link to the bracket/mounting diagram.

Hate to say it, but its a poor design. The air cleaner assy literally hangs from these two mounts which are positioned horizontally or sideways so that sag and eventual failure is inevitable. It's always in shear rather than compression. It will especially wear if engine mounts are worn as increased engine rotational movement will inflict a tearing motion on the rubber mounts as well as the TB intake bellows.

its easy enough to replace too. It’s far from the worst design feature under the hood!

Haven't gotten into the car that much to know just how bad other design features are but seeing the prices of those little gems by OEM prices, it's pretty bad.

There are no design flaws in a Jaguar. That which has the appearance of a design flaw is simply "an interesting engineering feature". Soon enough you'll get into the spirit of things
In actuality, the more you dig the more you'll see that Jaguar did some things very well and other things....not so much. It's a real mixed bag. Broadly speaking, Jaguar spent money where it counted most....and saved money on everything else. There's lots of high-grade stuff in an XJS. The 79-cent (value, not retail price!) window switches are one of the things that always galls me.
Parts prices are all over the place but, in the aggregate, they're generally reasonable. There are some ringers....like these little rubber mounts...but as high-end specialty cars go, it ain't so bad. It pays to shop around. Be careful of sub-par knock-offs, though.
Cheers

iPD has air cleaner rubber mounts for $1.95 (as of July 2022)
Reviving an old thread in case others need to replace their mounts at lowest possible price!
