As I said something blew out one of the valves or the hoses I don't know what so it absolutely has a leak now if it didn't before. Until that is fixed I can't recharge and doubt it will hold a vacuum.

You could have blown your compresser...the o rings...

The compressor is on the front of the engine bay and as I said before the blowout was on the back end.

The check valves in the fill ports can often leak, they unscrew from the metal lines. It's a standard part.

I assume you were not using a gauge manifold that shows both high and low pressure sides at the same time? If you're doing AC work, it's well worth investing in those.

For the current problem you'll just have to check systematically until you find what ruptured. Could be a hose or a crimp, or the connection to the evaporator. At this point I'd probably want to take everything apart and replace all the O rings in the joints.
