Annual refit
Mission creep has set in again!
What started of as a general fettling with a few jobs and an MOT has turned into another marathon, there goes the boat budget!
Variously the state of the old fuel tank, badly corroded and stinking the car out, shocking state of the radius arm bushes which were only fitted last year and done a few thousand miles at most. Fitted new DB7 springs and shocks last year but apparently the collets were fitted the wrong way round putting the alignment out by about 10mm resulting in split bushes; now replaced with Aston units and Vee mounts.
Genuine TWR back boxes with twin pipes, more dreaded rust but not a huge amount thankfully.
Also done are the diff seal, gearbox seal and spring mount, very expensive oil change, drop link bushes replaced, steering rack leak fixed, entire fuel pipe replaced from tank to engine, front brakes and ABS sorted, thermostats and rotor arm replaced along with throttle actuator arms and bushes.
I need a lie down in a darkened room now.
David at Alders Classics reports that the car is running really well and sounds great; unfortunately I can't get it back until the week after next but I'll report back then.
