Default Another Tire Option

Just replaced the tires on my ‘88 that has the Starfish wheels. I needed an all season tire that wasn’t too expensive. The last set were Sumitomo HTR from Tire Rack that at the time (2017) were not available in the 215/70 size, so I had gone with 215/65. While they were ok, I have never in my life had as many punctures on a car (maybe just bad luck), and they were discontinued shortly after I purchased them, which is something that I had never considered…..
This time I went with Cooper Endeavor- they are available in the 215/70 size, are H speed rated, and were introduced in 2021 so should remain available for at least a few years. I believe newer tire lines, regardless of manufacturer, have the advantage of recent technology. The ones I purchased are made in the hood old USA (Tupelo, MS).
My initial impression is very good, they seem to track a little better, are quiet, and don’t seem excessively harsh over bumps.
I purchased mine at Discount Tire; they are also available through Tire Rack and other retailers. Currently are $107 each pretty much everywhere, but Discount had an $80 instant rebate (good through today I believe). With installation I ended up at $467. No affiliation with Discount Tire other than a happy customer.

Can you keep us updated on how they go? They're on the list to replace our Sumitomos

I have a couple of hundred miles on them so far, still the same impression. I did notice that they do not tram line like the Sumitomos and track better. I will post more as time goes on…
