Antenna/Aerial Question

Antenna/Aerial Question
I wanted to repair my Hirschmann 6000el electric antenna and bought a replacement mast. I took it apart to make sure there wasn't any of the old toothed cable in the unit, and to inspect the works. It was very clean and looked fine.
Reinstalled in the car, and if I turn the radio on I can hear the motor run. However, when I turn the radio off, wait for the delay, the motor does not reverse/run so I can feed the new mast in. I removed the cover on the delay relay to see if the relay was either stuck or not operating, but it appears to be working fine.
What am I missing?
Thanks for your help!

If everything is free and well lubricated, I would look to relays. It is best to pull the schematic and trace the wiring I would also look at the antenna rod connection and insure that is smooth and not binding. I would also suspect the down delay circuit. If the motor isn't working that might be the problem

My approach, if you can get to them, is to burnish the relay points; replacement would be a better choise The schematic does does not show where M6 connection to the center box goes unless it goes to 1br on the radio. Since the antenna goes up that indicates the motor is running.I would also suspect the relay being frozen in the up position. I think the radio provides the current to raise the antenna. and the relay stays in the up position and when the radio is turned off, the relay relaxes into the down position.
