The ABS light is switched on in the following conditions.
Very low reservoir oil.
Faulty ABS sensor or wiring.
Low pressure in the ABS system.
Check your reservoir level first. Then I would check all the wheel sensors and exposed wiring for damage.
I have uploaded a diagnostic guide, hopefully this will help you isolate the fault.

btw, this is a good source of information on the subject:

I'm also trying to run down a problem with my system. Seems after a drive the other day the brakes were very, very hard and the anti lock light came on.
I have checked wheel sensors, the 30 famp fuses, fluid level and even changed out the pressure switch from a parts car. Still have "hard" brakes without power assist.
Do I need to bleed the brakes again ?? Although I don't know how air would have gotten into the closed system....
Seems might be a power boost failure somewhere ??

Although I have accumulated the age number of 77, considered old ny many and sometimes considered caustic, I learned my way around all of my cars
by way of google or what ever search engine you use on your computer. It's a great place to start your own learning curve... To help you find your way
with your particular Jaguar, or whatever, try googling it or anything else you need. You will receive a lot of good information that way.
To give you a hint: Type the year, make, model of your car then type in "brake accumulator".
Good luck.
