Original speakers were crap when new - no doubt age hasn't been kind to them either.

Clarke your a legend buddy!

I raced up this morning and installed the speakers all in parallel, each with their own pair of wires (of course right?)

And she works like a dream!!! You bloody ripper!

I guess makes more sense. Two speakers in series you got the total current going through the same circuit with the speakers crappin themselves. In parallel current branches out, so I guess if the speakers were the same resistance then you would have only have half the current going through each speaker.

I was able to crank her up heaps more (without goin crazy) and it was at an acceptable level for me

if it continues to give me the ***** ill upgrade the speakers but for now shes sweet!

thanks !

mate thats so funny as i just loaded Funky Town onto my Samsung phone to play via bluetooth lol!

Also a bit of Billy Joel, Tina Turner, Madonna, Elton John, Foreigner, Eurythimics, Prince..the list goes on......lol....dont be hatin!

Man i tell ya, the Goose loves to hear music from the correct era. it makes it go "faster".

I still have to install the bluetooth microphone to have hands free mobile, though im just not real fond of running an ugly microphone wire, or tearing up inner linnings to hide the cable.

Anybody here done the handsfree mic on theirs? I dont think the Goose likes me goin too modern

Im just not that important that I have to answer mobile phone calls whilst driving.

And we still haven't seen any interior shots yet!

Jake21, I am swapping out my OEM deck in my 1994 xjs convertible. Plugged into the back of my deck is the antenna, the wiring harness and a round plug. It is this round plug that I can't figure out its function. Any ideas? And can I ignore when I install the new deck? I have pictures which I will upload once I figure out how. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you, Darren

I'm thinking that the round plug is the cable that's pre wired for the CD changer that can be fitted in the left side of the boot /trunk...

I believe you are correct. It confused me because my car doesn't have a CD player. I ignored the wire and after about a dozen hours of "fun" I now have my new stereo installed, complete with hands free mic, and Sirius radio.
Thank you for your reply.

Default drivers side speakers not working

Curious as to what may cause speakers on drivers side to quit working? Passengers sides speakers work. If possible that wire on back of stereo is loose any suggestions on how to correct problem would be appreciated.

Default Adding on

What are the most compatible head units out there? Are there after market units that can control the factory amp, use the bluetooth mics, ect. Also, can you hook up an aftermarket amp to replace the factory one easily?
