Auto tranny dipstick

1996 SJS 4.0. Transmission dipstick will not come out. Is there something holding it in that I am not familiar with. I don't want to break it. I pulled the 'lock' part up and it won't budge.

I squirted some liguid thread solvent down the tube past the rubber and it the dipstick came right out.
