And trees fall leaves. My cat top (roof)
It is 1988 Hess&Eisenhardt, so very specific design.
Top was already in a very bad condition and I want to have a new one done.
The crucial question is: vinyl or sonnenland (fabric) ?
I am attaching two pictures after removing the roof. I just want to draw attention (for those concerned) to two critical points.
1. Drain tube. If it becomes clogged, then much of the water goes under the cover of the lower tank and into the floor in the car.
2. Drip tray in quarter window area. After years, a lot of dirt gets into the hole around the window and the holes in the floor become blocked. Water remains in this pocket and the bottom starts to rust (behind the door to the rear).
I wonder if it always had a fuel tank there? is it extra? Does the trunk also have a fuel tank?
In my car, this place gets very hot because of the muffler under the floor.
As the former owner of a H & E conversion, I can appreciate how valuable this info would be to other owners so thanks for taking the time to post. If I recall correctly (it was 20 something years ago), my H & E came with a vinyl convertible top if that helps.
I'm curious to how one of these made it to the Czech Republic since they were converted in the US for the US market...?

It is only for Hess&Eisenhardt.
In the trunk is also fuel tank.
Upper tank in trunk have 14 US gallons, lower has 11 US gallons, together cca 92 liters.
No problem with heat from mufflers.

Yes I have vinyl top now, but it is only summer car. So I need not perfect isolation and for maintenance and repairs is fabric better.
History is simply. Car has been sold 05/Jun/1988 in NY, than had 2 owners (Michigan, Indiana). In 2010 was sold to Switzerland, There owner cooked engine and 2013 I bought it via mobile.de.
