This may be as controversial as telling what type of oil I use, but I use Walmart batteries in all of our fleet.
I recently got a battery for my XJS there.
Within the last 6 months I also got a battery for my DB9 there. I did a bit of research online and found a cross reference that showed me the DB9 battery was the same as an X300 XJ6, so I used that to look up the type on the walmart computer and indeed, it was exactly the same battery. A "genuine" Aston Martin battery was $600 plus $200 to fit it (It's in the cabin, underneath the rear seat, genius design, don't ask)

Exide EA640 64AH 640 Cold Cranking Amps Premium Battery
4 Year Guarantee
Which also has a built in condition indicator, it fitted perfectly in my Tray but as its a little bit taller than the OEM, I had to make up a battery clamp out of Strip Strap to go over it.
Probably the best battery, that I have ever used on any Car and so I have put another one on the Merc.
Price: Circa £60.

In the last month I did some research on a new battery. I found these two to be excellent choices. Also is attached some information you may be interested in.
