Battery size for 6 cylinder XJS
Hi all,
Does anyone know the correct batter size for a 1990, 3.6, coupe? Mine currently has an "075" code size battery but it seems a little small for the carrier. Halford's website suggests a "030" code size unit whilst others come up with different sizes.
Any recommendations for minimum amperage rating?
Cheers,
LeeP

Lee,
XJS battery size as defined by the major suppliers is a constant problem. Most of the suppliers quote the wrong size! And Jaguar confused things by changing battery spec and tray size during the lifetime of the car.
Certainly the later convertibles need an 096 battery NOT the 017 battery quoted by many suppliers which will not fit! I use a Varta E44 with 77ah and 780 CCA. www.tayna.co.uk do great online service and price and you can sometimes find discount codes to get the price even lower.
Good luck
Paul
