Default Best Repair Manual on the market suggestion

Hi everyone, I own 2 1994 xjs convertible with the 4.0 engine (Aj6) and I like to do my own work on them. I知 about to change valve cover gaskets and o rings but would like to know the torque specs for the bolts. So I知 Looking to purchase a repair manual. Any suggestions on the best one is greatly appreciated. I know Haynes doesn't make one for 1994 xjs but makes one for the Xj6 are they comparable on engine, transmission, suspension and rear end wise Thanks

Hi and welcome. I'm using the one shown in this link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XJS-...wAAOSwCypWnsAY
and it is telling me that you are looking at 17-20 lbft for the cam cover ***'y set screws. You'll also need a half-moon seal for the rear of the cylinder head.

The 1994 XJ6 has the same engine and transmission but not suspension so the Haynes book may be of some use. You won't find a better resource than this forum though! (I'm referring to the expertise and magnanimity of other members).

I bought the factory XJS, XJ6/12 Manuals from Jaguar some time ago. If you can find one, they have everything from Hi! to wiring schematics. Not cheap, I paid over $200 new. Also, XKs (Moss Motors) have the CD manual one each specific model, somewhere around $75-$100.

Just noticed you have a six. There are a lot of other manuals available so you may wish to contact them. https://www.ebay.com/str/coventryfou...3017013&_pgn=2
