Best way to take fan (clutch) off

I removed all the top hoses wiring etc and loosened up the mounting bracket/radiator bolts etc - I've already hacked off the stupid air intake trumpets so if your intake is stock then removing the air box casing might help to and then slide some cardboard down in between the Rad and the fan you can remove one at a time.
I managed to install a new clutch+fan all bolted together in one go without removing any belts either but it was quite painful...don't ask how it fit because I don't know.
