BMW wheels on XJS ??
#2
This has been discussed a few times on the forum (XJS and XJ6 subforums) so you might be able to get some good info doing a search. In a nutshell, they can be made to work. The offset is close enough to work with some tires, and the bolt pattern is slightly smaller, which necessitates some machining on the wheels or special "wobble" nuts.

If you're running the BMW wheels on a Jaguar pattern, each stud and lug nut will be about 1/32" farther away from the hole in the wheel. When it comes to fitting machined parts together, that's not insignificant
On one hand, people seem to get away with it. On the other hand, if there is a failure and someone gets hurt, you're the guy that put the wrong wheels on the car.

The problem is with ( and lets use Metric ) BMW are 5x120 and Jag 5x120.65 if your wheels use tapered nuts and you do up 1 nut at a time this will put the last nuts 0.65mm (26thou) out of alignment I think this is significant enough that if something is not right with the additional lateral load on the wheel studs you COULD have a failure. And I am of the opinion that for a few extra $$ I would like be sure my wheels are not going to fail at 110km/h (70mph) or worse on the track.
If it were me I would have nut seats re-cut for the different PCD or use wobbly nuts.
